Master Trainer, Balanced Body Faculty
My movement background began at an early age as a dancer. I went to Western Michigan University where I was introduced to Pilates in the dance department. After discovering kinesiology and movement science, I changed paths and earned my degree in Exercise Science. In 2000, I found the perfect way to combine the two passions by completing my full Level 2 certification in STOTT PILATES.
After many years of teaching in Michigan and northern Florida, I decided to take my teaching career to the next level and become part of Balanced Body's team of faculty trainers in 2011.
Then in 2012 I completed to requirements to earn my Post-rehabilitation conditioning specialist certification from STOTT PILATES.
I am also certified in Cardiolates and have done specialized breast cancer rehabilitation training through STOTT PILATES and The LeBed Method. I have studied pre and post-natal Pilates extensively and put that knowledge to use preparing for the birth of my son in 2011.
I have worked with all levels of client from beginners and post-rehabilitation to Olympic hopeful figure skaters, professional dancers and NFL football players. I love the challenge of working with a wide range of fitness levels and abilities. It is so exciting to be able to help someone reach their goals, either after surgery or an injury, in competition, or just to simply feel stronger and more balanced in daily life.
