Fitness has been a part of my life in many ways for a long time; not only as a dancer, but also for personal health. I began my Zumba journey a year and a half ago, looking for a different type of workout. Having explored a variety group exercise classes on top of my standard gym routine, I decided to try Zumba... and I loved it. In the past year, I have taken the steps to obtain my Zumba license, become certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Group Fitness Instructor, and grow from teaching one class every other week to 5 classes a week or more! I truly love what I do.

My fitness philosophy is to provide a fun and exciting, yet effective and safe workout. I aim to provide a body-positive atmosphere, where any person, any size, any age can enjoy moving and get a great workout. Just take a deep breath, let it go, get ready for some β€œMe” time, and let your heart be free. In Zumba, every class is like a party! You don't need to know how to dance, just follow my lead and move your body. I'll provide you with the moves, modifications, and an hour full of laughter, smiles, a little bit of cheering, and a whole lot of fun. I grew up in a US-Venezuelan household where my family taught me to learn, love and live all cultures. Growing up with salsa music at home, I gained an early love for all Latin rhythms. Our family hosted and attended regular dance parties. In fact, my husband and I met at a Latin house party, and started our relationship by going out salsa dancing. I had to make sure he would be willing to dance with me- that's how much I love it.

Aside from Latin dance parties, I have been dancing and performing for 13 years with various companies in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area. My love of culture has lead me to study ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, belly dance, Bollywood, and folkloric (Greek, Arabic, Austrian, & English), as well as New York style Salsa, Bachata, Cuban Salsa, and more. I truly believe anyone can have fun and get a great workout while dancing. I'm excited to get on the floor and dance with you!
